Duluth City Cycling Scavenger Hunt

YMCA news release:

The Duluth Area Family YMCA is kicking off a new year of Youth in Government programming with a bicycle scavenger hunt fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 17. This citywide event welcomes community members of all ages and abilities. Teams of 3-5 will compete in one of two tracks, one beginner and one challenging.

Participants begin at the Duluth Area Family YMCA where they will be directed to find a list of treasures or places to pursue, take their picture on site, and return to the Y. Local businesses (Lake Avenue Café, Valentini’s Vicino Lago, Super One, and Maurices, with more pending) have prizes to be awarded to the top tiers of each track. The event is meant to support the students while having healthy fun within the community, maybe even rediscovering beautiful
Duluth.

Youth in Government is a program for student leaders, grades 8-12, interested in gathering with youth across Minnesota to build leadership skills, have a lot of fun and construct a mock state government in the process. A program of the YMCA, YIG prepares students to join 1,500 youth at the state capitol to assemble a student-run state government. Students meet at the Capitol in January to take on roles of governor, representatives, lawyers,
lobbyists, media, etc., to learn first hand how legislative, judicial, and executive systems work. The group is looking for local student leaders interested in getting involved in their community.
