Don’t they ever stop migrating?

Don't want them, don't feed them.

It is against the law to feed the seagulls, but I have seen people out there with huge, huge plastic bags of bread crumbs. I have never seen anyone: citizen, police or business owner, tell someone to stop feeding the birds.

Although someone said, "Do not feed in this area."

What law is it against? Does Duluth have an anti-gull-feeding ordinance? Does it only apply to gulls? Can I feed pigeons?

I just looked through the City of Duluth's legislative code. As far as I can tell, the word "gull" doesn't appear.

It *is* illegal to feed deer or pigeons. It says so in Section 6-78. But there's no mention of gulls.

The Superior City Council voted a while back to encourage folks not to feed gulls. But they didn't make it illegal.

For the curious, here's a link to Duluth's legislative code.

Thanks, Chris! That made for some fun reading. I see it is also illegal to feed bears in Duluth (Section 6-57), but I can't find anything about gulls, either.
