New Glocal fair – Dec 11 – global and local artist openings

Local and global artist openings for Glocal, Global & Local Art & Gift Fair to be held Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 from 10 until 3 p.m. at St. Michael’s Church, 4901 E. Superior St. in Lakeside.

This fair has openings for local artists- Twin Ports and neighboring vicinity – and for groups involved with selling international items to support other countries. There also may be space for information tables on supporting international groups or, for instance, hosting an exchange student.

I’d like to have a good variety of countries represented from around the world – above and below the equator. Beautiful tapestries, baskets, recycled materials art, but also sale of chocolate bars to support other countries.

For the items made in other countries (not locally) they must be Fair Trade or by small groups which definitely benefit the international community. For local-made items some general made items will be accepted but some spots will be reserved for definite international and culture art/craft items, such as Swedish rosemaling, beadwork, silk items, etc.

If any group may be interested in doing any cultural program, like a dance, please let me know.
