She’s wearing a “duluth is a cool city” in the comedians of comedy. Great movie, I highly recomend it.

I love Maria Bamford! Her Burning Bridges CD is almost perfect in its weirdness and hilarity! I’ve seen her 3xs. One time wearing a Duluth is a Cool City Tee which she appreciated.

Maria Bamford is what I call “chuckle” funny. I still adore her brand of humor every once in a while.

She’s like the yin to Patton Oswalt’s yang.

One of my friends from grade school is totally into Maria Bamford and was so impressed I live in the city she was born in. She and Dylan — made this city cool.

Um … is it possible for two celebrities (any two really) who mostly live away from a city to make that city cool?”

Maria Bamford is very Duluth … Dylan is paranormally Duluth.

I went to Marshall with Maria. We were in many plays together. Plus she was a “good Episcopal girl” so my parents encouraged me to hangout with her, but she was too cool for me. Her parents are as wonderful as she describes.

Actually, I have not heard a lot of her comedy, (so I’ve only heard a few parodies of her parents) but I do know her parents are wonderful.

Let me clarify my earlier statement: Maria Bamford has made Duluth cool to a guy who lives in San Jose, Calif and knows nothing more about Duluth than what he’s heard from Maria Bamford. So, in that sense, Maria Bamford has made Duluth cool — to outsiders who probably will never come within 150 miles here.

We should get her to be a celebrity judge at Geek Prom.

  11. huitz huitz on January 31, 2010 at 1:23 pm

Yes, let’s elect her mayor while we’re at it (j/k). I just saw her on top 20 comedy picks on the comedy channel. A few lol moments, but most of the act was blah. I suppose you have to be in the right mood. The intellectual/ethereal lines are funny, but they just don’t make me crack up. I just do a ha-ha. I agree, though, she would be great at geek prom. If she goes, then add one more to the roster.

Maria, can you please give us advance notice next time you are scheduled to perform in Duluth? And is Patton Oswalt as…unpleasant as he seems to be? 🙂

“Sweetie, listen, if you want to get breast implants, we will support you; not financially, but emotionally.” -Maria’s Mom to Maria (in the skit, above)

Hilarious! My mom and my sister have similar, odd conversations.

    Maria,
Great work on the Comedy Channel this past weekend. I’d never seen you before. It was an all day Comedy Marathon-ish-kabible thing. You were the best by far. Memorable enough for me to research who the heck you are/were.

You cracked me up. One of the best I’ve seen. Thanks!
