Zave Zou Zeen Zo Zhe Zinema?

top_left

Have you been to the Zinema yet? I went to see The Big Lebowski last Friday and Moon earlier this week. If you have not been, what are you waiting for? This theatre is a jewel! I have been bitching for years about the lack of good movies in Duluth and now the drought is over.

Nick and I have made a commitment to support the Zinema 2 as much as humanly possible. Hell, I don’t have to sneak my beer in anymore, they sell it at the concession stand! Good beer on tap and for those on a budget get a bucket of Premiums for 10 bucks. When you are done with those 6 beers you can pee in the bucket! No more pesky bathroom breaks! More exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously the Zinema 2 is the best thing to happen to Duluth in a long time and I hope it is supported. Quit yer bitching and go see a movie!

I’ve been trying to get to their website to see what it’s all about, BUT… the site never works.

Can’t agree more. This place is about as close to perfect as you can get. Saw Moon on Labor Day (after a summer of grumbling to anyone who would listen that I was annoyed at not being able to see it) and am going to try and catch it again soon. Really looking forward to Tetro and It Might Get Loud. It took way to long for us to get something this great around here.

    It’s FANDAMNTASTIC!!!

I saw Moon there on opening day.

Saw the Big Lebowski there Friday night.

Saw Food Inc. there last night with my church youth group.

    Great facility and well run!

This is definitely a net GOOD thing for Duluth. Go enjoy it!

Does anyone else have trouble visiting https://www.zinema2.com/ ?

I’ve never had a problem with it, so the comment by “Disappointed” made me wonder what the deal is.

Oh, and may I add, I love their Midnight Movie series. Ghostbusters this week and Princess Bride in early October!

Plus, if you get a Ten Pass for $50 you’re only paying $10 a show.

    Yep, I’m a fan.

Paul, I did have a problem once getting on the site. But it was only that once and I’ve visited fairly regularly since it went up.

Correction. 50 dollar punch pass equals $5 per movie.

Maybe we’ll hit it this weekend, I am SO glad to have the Zinema open up, it’s about time! I really feel an excitement in Duluth, because Duluth is poised on the edge of a renaissance. This is definitely part of it. AND I heard the Zen House is opening a second location in the Holiday center. My prayers have been answered. I miss my beloved Carrboro a little less with each passing day.

Huzzah! I can’t wait to catch a movie there next time I’m in town.

Saw ‘Moon’ there last week, and loved the theater (despite the fact that someone who felt the need to talk to himself during the movie had to come sit in front of me…) Question, though – where do people park when they go there? I parked at Fitger’s when I went, and it worked well enough. Just wondering if they had an actual lot…

Can’t wait for ‘Ghostbusters’ this weekend!

We saw Moon there last week on their 2nd night. We were the only people in the theater. It was awesome. And there was beer. So it was even more awesome.

I saw THE HURT LOCKER there this week and found the theater (and the flick) to be quite awesome! I’m so excited that this theater has opened up. It’s about time!

Thanks for posting this Starfire, I’m in total agreeance! I saw Food Inc and then Lebowski on Friday. I love it! I’m excited to go see Chaplin there next week, that’s an opportunity you don’t normally get. I think you should all go see it as well (Monsieur Verdoux). I hope the theatre turns out an utter success–keep the word of mouth moving!

Coming up from the downstairs theaters into lobby with the huge windows gave me a whole new appreciation for how cool Hotel Duluth the Sheraton and Blackwater look. It felt like I was in a different town.
The place looks amazing , and the peek I got of the bar gives me high hopes for the potential of the downtown scene.Amazing job to all that were and are involved.
In stark contrast to the pidgeons nesting in the Norshor marquee.

Saw Moon during the opening week. Definitely awesome, my wife and I got our punch card and very excited to go back.

Hopefully this is the start a trend towards making Superior Street a place I actually want to hang out at on a regular basis.

What Starfire said. I have no idea why I wrote $10 per show.
