Winter Out West Storytime with Chris Monroe

Zenith Bookstore is part of Winter Out West 2026 in West Duluth. Duluth children’s author Chris Monroe is reading from two of her books, Sasquatch and Squirrel and String Ball to families in attendance.

Monroe is an author, illustrator, visual artist and cartoonist. She is a graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and lives in Duluth. She is the author and illustrator of 12 picture books and one collection of comics. Her comic strip Violet Days was in print for more than 22 years. She has illustrated picture books for other authors including Jane Yolen and Kevin Kling. Her artwork can be seen at Lizzard’s Gallery in Duluth as well as in the permanent collection of the Tweed Museum. Her book Monkey with a Tool Belt has been adapted into the Netflix series Chico Bon Bon: Monkey with a Tool Belt.
