Twin Ports Socratic Café: Eating Meat
Free
The singer Billie Elish has said eating meat is immoral. Is she right? That’s the topic of discussion for this edition of the Twin Ports Socratic Café.
Twin Ports Socratic Café is an informal, in-person gathering where people from across the community come together to explore meaningful questions and have thoughtful conversation over a drink.
Using the Socratic method, the group focuses on asking questions, examining assumptions and listening to one another — rather than debating or trying to reach a single “right” answer. No background in philosophy is needed, and there’s no expectation to speak.
Gatherings are on the third Tuesday of each month. The group is facilitated by Dr. Drew Mannetter, who helps guide the conversation using the Socratic method, focused on asking questions, examining ideas and learning from one another.
