Tomassoni Tour 2026: Cycle for ALS
The fourth annual Tomassoni Tour features more than 150 cyclists gathering on Minnesota’s Iron Range to honor the legacy of the late State Senator David Tomassoni and support the fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The event runs Sept. 17–19 with Giants Ridge serving as the central hub.
The full course ride begins at 8 a.m. on Sept. 18 in Embarrass and continues at 8:15 a.m. on Sept. 19 in Ely. The half ride begins at 9:15 a.m. on Sept. 18 in Gilbert and continues at 9:45 a.m. on Sept. 19 in Tower.
The Tomassoni Tour was established to honor the life and legacy of David Tomassoni, whose battle with ALS inspired countless people throughout Minnesota and the Iron Range. Organized by Never Surrender, the event has become an important annual fundraiser supporting individuals and families affected by ALS. Through a series of community-driven events over the past three decades, Never Surrender has raised more than $29 million to support ALS care services and research.
This year, after spending long days cycling the scenic Mesabi Trail and surrounding Iron Range landscapes, riders can take the opportunity to relax and recharge in Giants Ridge’s new Pool & Sauna Haus. In addition, meals are catered by Giants Ridge’s food and beverage service and participants have a chance to take scenic chairlift rides among other activities throughout the weekend.
