Supporting the Supporters: Resources for Caregivers
Free
Caring for someone you love is one of the most meaningful things you can do — and one of the most demanding. Whether you’re supporting an older adult living with dementia, managing care for someone with a chronic health condition, or helping a family member or friend with a disability, you deserve support too.
This practical, informative workshop is designed for family caregivers, friends, and neighbors in all stages of the caregiving journey — whether you’re just beginning to navigate a new diagnosis or have been caregiving for years.
Topics include:
– Recognizing caregiver burnout — understanding the signs before they become a crisis
– Navigating local services and supports — what’s available in the Duluth area and how to access it
– Setting boundaries and practicing self-care — why it matters and how to make it realistic
– Planning ahead and asking for help — tools and conversations that can make caregiving more sustainable
Participants will leave with a local resource handout and practical strategies to use right away.
