Superior Siren – “Love Poem”

Laura Sellner of Superior Siren directs this new music video, produced by Illy Killy with cinematography by Chris Linder. The video was shot in Duluth at the Oliver G. Traphagen House and Jade Fountain Cocktail Lounge.

The song “Love Poem” is from the 2021 solo EP Kill Your Darlings.

Laura Sellner of Superior Siren has released a lyric video for the first single from the recently released solo EP Kill Your Darlings. The video was created by Sarah Jordan.

Superior Siren – “Alive” (Live at Sacred Heart Music Center)

Eerie folk band Superior Siren performed a livestream from Sacred Heart Music Center on May 2. Wherehouse Productions has now released this video single from the show, featuring the song “Alive” from the band’s self-titled 2018 release.

The performance was part of the Minnesota Music Coalition‘s Minnesota Music Summit and also was integrated into the Homegrown Music Festival.

Superior Siren’s “Kill Your Darlings” solo EP out Friday

Laura Sellner of Superior Siren is releasing a solo EP — Kill Your Darlings — with a performance at 7:15 p.m. Friday at Earth Rider Brewery in Superior.

Eerie folk project Superior Siren has released a new music video for the song “Trying Too Hard” from the band’s 2018 self-titled album. The video was created by Killy Kay and Caelen Mars, and features Alison Peluso.

The Playlist Presents: Superior Siren

WDSE-TV‘s The PlayList Presents is a series of 5-minute segments featuring emerging musicians, including interview clips and a live performance. The Jan. 23 episode focused on Laura Sellner of the eerie folk band Superior Siren, with footage from the 2019 Catalyst Content Festival.

Superior Siren performs at Sacred Heart Music Center on Valentine’s Day with Tender Ness.

The PlayList Presents airs Thursday nights at around 8:20 p.m., after Making it Up North.

Superior Siren – Cover songs from 56 Brewing

Minnesota-based video production company Headwaters Entertainment produced three music videos of Duluth band Superior Siren performing cover songs at 56 Brewing in Minneapolis back in May. The audio mix is by Conduit Sound. Above is “Everything is Free,” written by Gillian Welch. The other two videos are below.

Emma Deaner: Trailblazer

Duluth’s Emma Deaner is featured in The Growler‘s list of “25 Trailblazers of 2017.” Deaner is associate events manager at Glensheen Mansion and drummer for the band Superior Siren.

“It’s going to be a busy year for Deaner,” the article notes. “She’s involved with a TBA project at the soon-to-reopen NorShor Theatre, and Superior Siren are launching their new album with a series of shows in January. What’s more, Deaner’s joining the Minnesota Music Coalition board of directors with the hope to ‘help bridge the gap between the metro and the North Shore.'”

The Growler is a monthly craft-culture magazine published out of St. Paul.

Another round of NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest is underway, with the winner to be announced in March. Duluth’s Gaelynn Lea took top honors in 2016.

Local band Superior Siren‘s 2017 submission is for a song called “Nightmare.” (The video was embedded here but has since been removed from YouTube.)
