Free photo exhibit submissions wanted

Submissions for 4x: A Print Exhibition at the Duluth Photography Institute will be taken until Friday, Feb 4. We have a lot of entries, but we could use even more! Anyone can enter images into the exhibit and there is no charge for submitting! The DPI will be open Thursday evening from 3-7pm and Friday from 3-6pm. Meet Featured Photographers Nate Lindstrom and Shawn Thompson

They will both be at the Duluth Photography Institute, 405 E. Superior St., on Monday, Feb. 7, from 6-7:30 to talk about their photography exhibit. Stop on by to talk photography and see the fantastic work of these two artitsts. Free and open to the public!

Which camera is right for you?

Are you looking to purchase another digital camera, or just want to know more about what is out there? The Duluth Photography Institute has a free (for members) workshop on Thursday, Jan 20, providing insights on all the different choices out there! Don from First Photo will also be there with cameras for you to try out! E-mail the DPI to register. Members only — you can easily become a member for as little as $20/year by visiting duluthphotographyinstitute.com.

Photo exhibit anyone can enter

And it will test your creativity! The Duluth Photography Institute calls it “4x: A Print Exhibit” and the rules are simple and few: submissions must be photographic prints with one side being 4 inches and perimeters (distance all the way around) 60 inches or less. Deadline is Jan. 31 and the exhibit will be held in mid Feb. For all the other details and for questions, go to the DPI website at duluthphotographyinstitute.com.

Shawn Thompson Photography Exhibit

Featured photographer Shawn Thompson’s natural landscape photography will be exhibited at the Duluth Photography Institute, 405 E. Superior St. in Duluth through mid-February. There is a free public reception at the DPI facility on Friday, Jan. 14, from 5-8pm.

Shawn will be available to discuss his work and refreshments will be served.
