Duluth-area Theater Primer 2026-2027
As the air gets colder and the wind howls louder, Duluth’s theatrical arts organizations launch into a new season of storytelling, blending thought-provoking dramas, glittery musicals, boundary-pushing independent productions, topical local comedies and touring Broadway spectacles. Perfect Duluth Day’s annual primer offers a glimpse into the variety of upcoming shows hitting local stages.
Boat Club Productions(opens in new tab) is an offshoot theater company of the Boat Club Restaurant. It stages performances in the Spirit of the North Theater on the third floor of the Fitger’s complex.

In addition to the “Broadway at the DECC” series, the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center occasionally hosts other touring theatrical performances, including Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue(opens in new tab) on Nov. 10.
The Duluth Playhouse(opens in new tab) was founded in 1914 and is one of the nation’s oldest community theaters, producing a year-round season of dramas, musicals and children’s productions. Performances are in the NorShor Theatre.
