This ceramic ashtray raises a few questions, the primary one being: Who was Sam Hanson?

I’m fairly certain the business was located in or behind the building on Central Entrance that is now the Rose Man. Next door was the Highland Meat Market. This would have been in the 1970s.

My Grandpa. His shop was the building the Rose Man moved into. Do you still have that ashtray?

Never had it. Saw it listed on eBay.

Awe! That was our grandfather! I’d really love to have seen this when originally posted to hit up eBay! So neat it was even on there. Thanks for posting this!

I worked for Sam Hanson back in 1977-1979. I was a parts shop person and parts runner. Shop was across from Highland Bakery. I knew Sam pretty good. I have this ashtray and a couple key rings from Electric Construction. Richard Hanson, Sam’s son worked in the office too. I remember him well.
