After 20 years …
Go see my friends at Lake Superior Brewing this weekend. As part of their 20th anniversary celebration, they have finally opened up a Tap Room at their West End location (corner of Superior Street and 27th Avenue West, behind Subway).
That’s not West Duluth, that’s the West End. Er, I mean Lincoln Park.
Dale, the owner, is a great stand up guy who supports the home-brewing community. The beer they make is some of the best in the area. Try the winter warmer barley wine if they have any left. One of the bright spots of the winter in Duluth if you ask me.
It’s funny, because right around the time Bent Paddle opened up their tap room I saw some of the folks from Lake Superior at Keyport over in Superior (one of them may have been Lake Superior’s owner, not sure) doing a tasting and I asked about the possibility of them ever opening up a small taproom. Their reaction to this was one not unlike I would imagine receiving had I just kicked their grandmother down a flight of stairs, i.e no way in hell would they ever open a tap room, and what a crazy idea this was!
But, I like their beer and I’m glad they are doing this now.
