Golfing in Duluth

A buddy and I are hoping to do our first round of golf in Duluth this weekend. Just wondering what courses you would suggest to a couple novice guys, who haven’t swung the clubs on a course for probably two years now.

I see there are Lester and Enger, which do you prefer? Also would they mind a couple of guys out there who might be a little shotty?

Whether you’re shotty or shoddy, I recommend my favorite free course, Rolling Ruts.

Grandview off of 35 & Midway is pretty casual.

Didn’t seem to be a whole lot of pressure as long as you let faster parties play through.

Both are great courses. Enger has great views of the lake. If it’s windy it could get more wind since it is on top of the hill. Lester is in the woods more since it is on the edge of town. You really can’t go wrong with either.

I prefer Nemadji. Although not in Duluth, it is close enough. 36 holes and a lot of variety. I have not golfed Enger but I did not find Lester to be that great of a course. Very 1920’s muni. Grandview is nice but fairly short.
