Invasive Species Alert

I dunno if this was intentional or an outrageous prank on someone who is blissfully out of town. If you thought Duluth has a seagull problem, then we might be in some serious trouble with these invasive species.

Can you guess where?

I have “heard” this is being done, by a certain Dragon Boat Festival team, that will hold your yard hostage with plastic flamingos until you pay the fee. The money raised then goes towards breast cancer research.

    Awesome way to raise money.

Good thing it isn’t a mural.

It looks like some of that suburban crap. 🙂

The plastic pink flamingo was the city bird of the suburban wasteland I grew up in. This would hardly have raised an eyebrow.

Hey, how about putting these in the downtown park, instead of the ‘mural’/graffiti! Raise money and beautify a park and unify the community! We had them in our dorm rooms in college, and we were really really unified.

In this case, I am fairly certain they were put there by the youth group at First Lutheran Church. You can then pay to have them removed and placed in another church member’s yard.

I know that ARC Northland used to do a fundraiser that involved flamingoing. Maybe it’s still going on?
