I feel bad about this. It was a great addition to the local restaurant scene. Unfortunately, they got up and running just as many other great eating establishments opened too. We have so many good choices, it’s hard to frequent them all. I don’t think the location was the best, and always hoped they’d locate in the old Barker’s Island spot where another fine restaurant once lived. It’s a shame to lose a great local eatery.

Is that French for inconsistent hours and a poor location?
I went there for lunch once, it was pretty bleah. Mr Claire went there with a group for dinner and he said it was a l–o-o-ng evening. Guess people either loved it or hated it.
Curious: what made the location poor?
It did used to be the SupeTown City Hall … ugh.
Really? I assumed that building was a bank or something.
Food was ok, prices were in line with food quality…and the setting was very nice, but it seemed be be a very loud restaurant. Even when there were only one or two tables filled, we found the ambient noise to be very loud and difficult to hold a conversation.
Hopefully a more affordable reestaurant can fill their location.
I had good luck with the chow and service there. Also like the building’s mod exterior, rare around these parts. Loads of windows and natural light, perhaps the least cave-like dining experience in Superior.
I miss the Boathouse. Loved going there!
The Boat House is a real loss. Everything about that place was unique and enjoyable. I’ve heard it’s been sold to UWS and will become some part of the Large Lakes Observatory. As much as I support those things, it’s sad that we’re losing such a great location and building for a restaurant.
