Riding the Lake Superior Waves

Here’s what they were doing Sunday off Stony Point, just south of Knife River. 50 mph wind gusts, 21 degrees.

    They kind of look like surfing ninjas.

    But they don’t look like the kind of surfing ninjas that would be long-lost princes from a China Sea Island who inherited magically-induced martial arts prowess.

    Actually, surf culture on Lake Superior is quite strong.
    Lake Superior surfers have their own website and a very active discussion group.
