What’s your favorite Halloween costume?

I’m having trouble deciding what costume to wear this year. Anyone have any suggestions? What’s the best costume you’ve ever seen/dressed in?

Costume not to wear is the invisible pedestrian. Tried it two years ago. Not fun at all.

The pedestrian is one of my favorite costumes. Here’s a picture of me when I wore it a few years ago:

The problem is, it sucks having to stand still all night at parties.

Here is the advice I gave in a Ripsaw column two years ago:

Whatever you wear for Halloween should be both hot and uncomfortable. Walking in your costume should be difficult, and dancing should be impossible. It should require a minimum of 30 minutes costume-disassembly time for you to use a toilet.

The quality of a costume is also judged by how long it takes you to look normal again afterward. If a quick shower returns you to your natural good looks, your costume probably sucked. It should take at least one week for you to get back to normal.

My favorite costume was last years. I was Margot Tenenbaum.

I’m a big fan of Wes Anderson, and it was easy to pull off.

A trendy theme this year is the before and after, for example: Jerry Jeff Walker Texas Ranger, or Susan B Anthony Hopkins. Try it out!

I, with the help of Dusty Olson, built a full-scale Humvee at Emerson one year and almost got kicked out.
