Looking to donate piano
My boss, a local professor, is looking to donate an upright piano to a local classroom, early childhood center, or organization that could get good use out of it. It has not been played in several years, and has a few worn keys as you can see in the photo, but is still in good working condition.

- Name and location of your center/school/organization.
- Your relationship to the center/school/organization.
- Your contact information, phone and email.
- Info about the students: class size; student diversity; and age of students.
- How do you integrate music into your curriculum?
- How would an addition of this piano benefit your school?
Feel free to include any other information regarding your group that could help us pick a great new home for this piano.
Too much work!!
Writing a few sentences for a free piano is too much work? It’s free! He just wants to see it go somewhere that will get use out of it.
I was at an auction about two months ago where the auctioneer walked past a piano and said, “Any bids on the piano? … Five bucks? … Free? … OK, we’ll move on.” Nobody wants to move those things.
But this piano looks nicer than that one.
It’s free except for repairs—like major if it hasn’t been played in years–and expensive tuning, not to mention the hauling. I think pianos are like old freezers and computers…nobody wants them, sad to say.
What Jude said. I’ve been on the lookout for a good piano for a while but the free ones I see on craigslist aren’t gonna cut it.
