This maybe so, but I live in Portland, and I’ve heard NOTHING about Google fiber. And They usually toot loudly about such, and the city’s usually VERY involved…They dumped a bunch of development money at a startup wimax infrastructure, then abandoned it. (Now we have clearwire wimax service.)This is the kind of thing they’re huge into out here, (Linus Torvalds lives here, f’cryin’ out loud!) And Its not even on the radar. Duluth is 1700 miles away, and I have heard of the bid for Google fiber in Duluth for a month and a half now. So , like the sign says, be just and fear not!
Google CEO, Eric Schmidt, says it “will have no bearing on which municipalities are chosen to participate in our experimental ultra-high-speed broadband project.”
Topeka falls within the population range for the Google fiber project, but Portland is actually just over their maximum, so I ain’t worried about no beer!
Chad: Last summer the Topeka mayor jokingly changed the town’s name to “Google” for a short time. Yesterday’s “Topeka” wording on Google was an April Fool’s joke by Google, and highly reported as such.
Although I will say brewing a “Google” beer was a good idea, with the number of micro breweries in the Twin Ports I kind of wish “we” (royal we) had done it first.

The getcha video was well done, and Don’s earlier words were sound. But really, a problem may be the physical wiring and telecom layout (with the exception of the downtown area, I’m thinking).
I still think that if you really play the shipping industry, tourism, and medical care publicity, you have a minor winning chance.

Portland is pretty much the microbrewery capital of the world so it makes sense.
Someone should sail or kayak the ol’ gitchi gumi in a route that spells out Google.
Or get a drunk stumbling out of RT’s walk home in a pattern that spells out Google. That may be more feasible.
