Where in Duluth?

They could have at least added a couple coils of razor wire for ambiance.

Sometimes, when I become discouraged, I say to myself, I should have gone to another city to seek my fortune. But when I look over these hills and see the great natural beauties of our community, I console myself and wonder–where in all this wide world could I find such a view as this?”

Is that the famous honking house on Skyline Drive in Duluth, Minnesota? I hear that when people drive by the famous honking house on Skyline Drive in Duluth, Minnesota, they often honk, because apparently there are a lot of deer on the road there, so one must honk near the famous honking house on skyline Drive in Duluth, Minnesota in order to clear the many deer from the road near the famous honking house on Skyline Drive in Duluth, Minnesota.

Its official!! The new name for this house is the Honking House!! I drive by this house at least 2 times a day, From now on I will lay on the horn everytime I pass day or night. What a fantastic idea this is. Infact I will be getting everyone I know to start calling it the “Honking House” It will not take long to make it really suck to live there. I might need to install a crazy loud horn in my car

IS anyone else starting to find comments like RickJF’s a tad disturbing? I don’t know the owners, and I resent it as much as anyone when the rich grab prime real estate. But they bought the place legally, they probably didn’t intend any great offense in doing so, nor realize it was near a nighttime party spot, and now all they want is some peace and quiet. It’s no different from the many people who post here resenting college parties. I don’t know when the fence was built but if the windows in their house got smashed they clearly had good reason.
Instead of launching a Nazi lynch mob against an isolated couple, it would make more sense to look at what can be done to preserve the rest of the skyline area.

Congratulations, Farglebargle! You win the Godwin’s law trophy for this thread. But your point about doing something constructive to preserve Skyline property is well taken. The other threads on this subject recommend getting involved in the city’s process of developing a new zoning code.

  14. farglebargle on September 29, 2009 at 8:29 pm

Okay, substitute “campaign of harassment” for “Nazi lynch mob.” The point’s the same. Though I can’t help but think people like RickJF would have made fine stormtroopers in another era.

Did not the City Council inact a land use provison protecting green space? Was it not based on percentage of land use?

    Peace
    Todd

I don’t drive so I’ll just yell “ahhhhhh” at this deer house. So I don’t hit a deer while walking.
