Bachmann is a special kind of crazy… and I don’t use that term lightly, honest to god I think that woman is unhinged in some medial way.

This article is about California. People are buying foreclosed homes. The alternative is that they stand empty or be squatted. How is this greed? And where did Bachmann fit in the discussion?

The description of their conference made me sick. Yes someone has to deal with this mess but the people who helped get us there haven’t seemed to learn anything.

I think the intent of the NYT article was to lead the reader to dislike the attendees. Easy target. But they are only the small-time speculators picking over the wreckage, from other speculative ventures gone bad. Sure, some have dreadful personalities, but their function at least appears, err, useful (not talking about Bachmann).

There is plenty blame to go around, but this seems like a diversion from years of flawed central planning and public/private official corruption. Which is nearer the root, but probably a lot less interesting as a social topic.
