Arrowhead Community Garden seeks new members

Arrowhead Community Garden has a 35-year history of growing fresh vegetables and building community by providing space for gardeners to grow food on land in Duluth’s Kenwood neighborhood. Openings are available for the 2026 season, so the group is seeking new members.

The 40+ members of ACG are managed by its eight-member leadership team. All AGC members contribute to the upkeep and development of the garden resources by joining one of various working groups dealing with all aspects of the garden.

Members of the community garden enjoy the benefits of a deer fence and yearly tilling, as well as a share of organic compost, seeds and access to gardening tools. After spring tilling, further tilling will be for abandoned gardens only with permission from the leadership team.

ACG is located off Arrowhead Road on a slightly sloping parcel of land south of Arrowhead and east of Rice Lake Road. The plots are generally well-drained — depending on rainfall — and get full sun. Parking is available at several places along the gravel access road. Security is provided by keeping gates locked.

The group is always looking for ways to improve the garden resources, in particular, improvement of soil quality. Herbicides have never been permitted. Non-organic pesticides are discouraged and AGC would like to move away from them further by supplying handouts on how to produce organic weed and pest control.

Gardeners can obtain 20×40-foot plots for $40 or 20×20-foot plots for $20 for the season. Members are expected to keep their plots reasonably well weeded to prevent the dispersal of weed seeds to neighboring plots. It is understand that things do come up, so in such circumstances members should contact the leadership team or fellow gardeners, who will happily provide help to maintain their plot.

Email arrowhead.community.garden. @ gmail.com to reserve a plot.

But most definitely will be willing to take spot. I have tomatos, and 3 different peppers and a bunch of others you plant right into the garden. Thank you sabrina 218-600-8778
