Looking for info on 1960s motorcycle dealer

I’m looking for the name of the motorcycle dealer that had a shop at the intersections of West Superior Street, Garfield Avenue and Piedmont Avenue in Duluth in the 1960s.

I think his first name was Bill. He used to race motorcycles at Proctor back then.

    Wasn’t it Pulaski?

The described location doesn’t quite match, but could you be thinking of BIll Frommes, who raced and sold motorcycles in Duluth in the 1960s? He had a motorcycle business at 5 N. 21st Ave W. and then later at 4002 Grand Avenue. His former wife, Patsy Erickson, passed away just a few years ago and her obituary contains some information about Bill.

That’s it, Bill Frommes, the 21st Ave. West was the location. My memory at 81 isn’t as sharp as it once was. Thanks for your research. I seem to remember he drowned after falling off a boat dock.

Glad that I found the right person. I enjoyed the challenge. And there’s no way I would have figured it out if you hadn’t gotten his first name right — that was really the key detail — so I wouldn’t be too hard on your memory.
