Why did he request a change of venue?

There are rumors as to why he wanted a venue change in the comments section of that Star Tribune article.
I have had my ear to the ground on this one. The herrings gulls in canal park are whispering two words as they clamor for stale donuts and old chewing gum: petty politics.
