Minnesota Presidential Primary Election Primer 2024

Minnesota’s Presidential Nomination Primary Election is on Tuesday, March 5. The state’s three major parties have an array of candidates to choose from. Each party has a separate ballot; voter’s must request the ballot of the party of their choice.

Below are the lists of candidates who appear on each ballot. Some have stated they have withdrawn their candidacy, but they nonetheless will appear on ballots. All three parties have opted to include a “write in” option, but only the Legal Marijuana Now party submitted a name to be counted: Willie Nelson. The Democratic-Farmer-Labor party also has an “uncommitted” option.
