I wrote Bob Saget’s last movie and it’s coming to Duluth

Twelve years ago I wrote a movie called Killing Daniel. Two years after I wrote it, I optioned it to Darius Films in Toronto, Canada. At the time I had no idea it would take a decade before it would be finished. In that time the script went through more rewrites than I can count, numerous actors signed on and departed from the project, and we lost the original director and were director-less for quite some time.

The title also changed. A lot. First it was Killing Daniel, then it was Blue Iguana, and then it was Over Your Dead Body before we finally rested on Daniel’s Gotta Die. The film stars Joel David Moore, Jason Jones, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Iggy Pop, and was the last film of the late Bob Saget.

The Minnesota Film Festival opens in a little more than a week and it has selected Daniel’s Gotta Die as the opening night film. Mary Lynn Rajskub (It’s Always Sunny in PhiladelphiaMr. ShowPunch Drunk Love) who plays the cold-hearted and murderous Mia in the film will be in attendance for a Q&A and then performing stand-up comedy in the Zeitgeist Teatro later that night.

The film plays on March 29 at 7 p.m. with another showing at 7:20. Tickets are available at agileticketing.net.
