Duluth’s Chuck Haavik has released his first single as a singer/songwriter. The track, “Wrestle With the Man,” is available on Bandcamp and DistroKid and soon will be available on Spotify.

Chuck Haavik is the father of musician Emily Haavik, who he said provided artistic input on his music and encouraged him to record it.

A life-long Duluth resident, Chuck Haavik started writing poetry on a sabbatical at the age of 60, published a book in 2015 with Duluth artist Aaron Kloss, and then started writing music. He plays acoustic and electric guitar and sings on the track. Duluth native Dave Mehling, now of Minneapolis, mixed the song and played bass guitar and drums.

Haavik plans to release two more singles over the next few months.
