Cory Coffman – “Canvas and Color”

Duluth musician Cory Coffman has released the official music video for his single “Canvas and Color,” the title track from his upcoming album.

The stop-motion animation, a collaboration with local photographer Alyssa Johnson of Blind Spot Creatives, was compiled from more than 2,000 images. It tells a story about two flowers that fall in love. The song was originally written and performed as the first-dance song for Coffman’s best friend Jimmy and his wife Natalie.

“Canvas and Color” was recorded, filmed and produced in Coffman’s home studio on Park Point. The full-length album, Canvas and Color, will be released in fall 2020. The recording project began this past March during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Coffman has collaborated with other musicians on past recordings; the upcoming album is the first in which he performs every instrument.
