After four months of locked doors, the Island Lake Inn is back open for business, under new management. The well-known bar and grill, located about 12 miles north of Duluth in the Gnesen Township, announced its return Monday on Facebook.

The Duluth News Tribune reports the restaurant reopened April 16 and is owned by Jeri Swanstrom and Kathy Watters. Swanstrom originally owned the Island Lake Inn with her husband Steve beginning in 1974.

A grand re-opening is planned for Friday with live music by the Northwood’s Band.
