Selective Focus: Found Art – The Squirrels

This week we look at a mysterious collection found at an estate sale. There are 36 pieces of yellow cardboard with photos of squirrels, and typed-out captions glued to the boards. All are numbered on the back, and some have additional handwritten notes on the back. Some of the handwritten notes also appear as typed captions on the front of other cards.

They were found at an estate sale a couple weeks ago by Lucie Amundsen. Someone told Lucie she had seen them at a different sale for $3 each, Lucie scored a bargain – $3 for the box.

It seems likely these belonged to a teacher, or maybe they were a school project. The squirrels have names: Bright Eyes and Bushy Tail. If anyone has seen these before or knows about this collection, we’d love to hear about it.
