Twin Ports Best Kept Dining Secret

One of the best kept secrets of the Twin Ports is Sclavi’s Italian Restaurant at 1106 Tower Ave. in Superior. I am amazed that more people do not know about it. We live in Minneapolis and it is better Italian food than anything we can think of in the Twin Cities. But as the best things in Suptown are, it is quirky.

Fine-dining-quality food but with a casual atmosphere and rock music playing in the backdrop. With a bare bones staff, the food is brought to you by either the young, good looking, tatooed owner or his mother. They are absolutely charming and personable. Locally sourced ingredients. Great specials and they keep up a nearly daily presence on Facebook letting you know what is going on at Sclavi’s.

Recently we enjoyed two-for-one drinks. The space is a former turn-of-the-century shoe store with exposed brick walls and soaring ceilings of pressed tin. This place is everything you could want for a completely unique dining experience in the Twin Ports.

My favorite part might be how locals will give directions to it: “It is right next to where the Palace Theater used to be.” Which of course is incredibly helpful to out of towners.

I couldn't agree with you more on your assessment of Scalavi's. The food is great, the quirkiness is unique. A great combination for a night out.
