What’s in your beard?
If you heard MPR Arthounds where I said Minneapolis poet Brian Beatty (doing a reading tonight and free workshop tomorrow) will fit into Duluth’s Lumbersexual landscape, you might enjoy this YouTube gem, What’s in Your Beard? It features Mr. Beatty himself.
Brian is the taller gentleman with gray in his facial hair.

I have one, but I keep it trimmed and groomed. Some have the “I just emerged from the wilderness” beard and I have to wonder what type of job allows that much facial hair.
There are hipster beards, hunting beards, and even the horrible chinstrap beard.
I suppose you also could talk about mustaches too – like the old timey ones that some guys have.
To beard – or not to beard…. That is the question!
This post led me to look up “Lumbersexuals.” It sounds like it’s guys in New York trying to dress up as what the guys in Duluth actually are. Am I wrong?
