Morel Hunting in Greater Duluth Area
I’ve done quite a bit of morel hunting in southern Minnesota, where I’m from, but I don’t know if there are morels up here or good places to look. If anyone up here has hunted mushrooms and can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. I realize that good morel grounds might be top secret around here, but if anyone is willing to share I promise I won’t tell anyone!
I’ve never heard of them north of Hinckley. They are out west in Grand Rapids however. Word is that it is a banner year for shrooms down in southern MN/WI and IA.
I’ve been picking them in Duluth for years. Checked one of my spots on Sunday nothing yet, but with the rain and warmer weather they should start this week. Look for any area with elms in the city. Promise you won’t tell anyone, thats funny. Good luck
