Strawberry vendors in Duluth?

Has anyone seen any roadside strawberry vendors in Duluth in the last day or two? Finke’s down in Mahtowa is having a really rough season and we need our berries bad enough to buy them from the back of a truck.

There was a roadside stand next to Culver's in Two Harbors on Monday.

We went to Bayfield to pick strawberries last Sunday. Their season was winding down, but some places might still have berries.

Last year anyway, the roadside stand next to Culvers in Two Harbors was highway robbery, I just remember thinking they were charging like three times as much as Super One for corn, peaches and other sundries, operating on the idea that the throngs would sure see it there, and think, 'Oh, how lovely!'

And the second before I saw this, was just saying to the misses, we ought to transplant our strawberries to a sunnier spot in the back yard, under the right conditions, they do really well here, almost grow to an invasive degree, as I just had a bowl of my neighbors for breakfast!

I didn't actually buy anything at the stand by Culver's, so I can't vouch for it. I also can't recommend eating your neighbors by the bowlful, for breakfast or any other meal.

They're still picking at Peterson's, 5 miles south of Eveleth, according to the recording on their voicemail.
