Vintage Duluth/Superior Flickr Pool

For those of you interested in vintage images of the Twin Ports, I thought I’d share a Flickr group I started to showcase all the vintage postcards, photos, maps and images stored on that site. The vintage postcards from Superior are my personal favorites. Please peruse, join the group and add any images you might have — I’d love to see the pool grow!

Wait a minute. Skyline Drive used to have a grassy median?

I think that was before I-35. One can see the rock wall on Tompson hill, behind the galvanized steel guard rail that is now there .

EmilySue, I’ve curated a few Duluth-Superior shipping-related galleries on flickr, and have them set up by decade up through the ’80s. None of the images are mine, but the galleries are a nice way to gather similar stuff. Feel free to peruse them; if there are things you want included in your group I’m sure many of the users who’ve uploaded the images would gladly join the group and contribute.

    Try this link: Waterhause’s Photostream.

You’ll see that the “Str. Noronic” postcard and a few other images are already included in the galleries and that’ll lead you to the rest. Thanks for putting this together, it’s a fantastic idea.

I used to beg my dad to drive over that bridge! I loved it even though it terrified me.

Great pictures! I like photos of this area the way it used to be. Lots of good stuff here.
