Community Concert

New Life Lutheran Church welcomes the community to a special outdoor concert Sunday, Aug. 21, in celebration of its one-year anniversary. Local gospel trio Hear By Faith will perform from 1-2 p.m., on the grounds at New Life’s facility at 4424 Venture Avenue in the Duluth Airpark. Root beer floats will be served by New Life youth following the concert.

Hear By Faith, formed in 1998, includes Deanna Greene, and Chad and Angela Larson. The group strives to provide close harmonies, close fellowship, and most importantly, a chance to spend some time getting closer to God. They have performed primarily in the upper Midwest.

There is no charge for the concert, however, a free-will offering will be taken. Limited seating will be available; attendees should bring chairs and/or blankets for seating.

In addition to the outdoor concert, New Life welcomes guest preacher Paul Spaulding to its pulpit for worship. Pastor Spaulding served as interim director for Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ. He will present “Purpose of the Church and the LCMC” during the 10:30 a.m. education hour. A question-answer session is included.

New Life is a Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ church. LCMC is an association of congregations and individuals who are free in Christ, accountable to one another, rooted in the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions, and working together to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission to “go and make disciples of all nations.” New Life is a Christ-centered church that preaches the gospel and not politics.
