St. Louis County Extension will host its Spring Gardening Extravaganza: Creating the Sustainable Landscape on April 16th. Northland residents can get expert advice on how to grow great ornamental gardens and beautiful lawns in our climate.  Ten speakers from the University and horticulture industry will be featured at the conference, along with 40 master gardeners.

Presentations include “Creating a More Natural and Sustainable Lawn,” “Selecting Trees for the Future Landscape,”  “Emerald Ash Borer and Gypsy Moths,” and “Adding Color to Your Landscape: The New Hydrangeas and Perennial Favorites.” The conference will also feature six workshops including landscape design and blending colors into the landscape.

It’s at Hermantown High School, 4335 Hawk Circle Drive from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  The cost is $30 which includes the program, resource book and refreshments.  For more information and to receive a program brochure call 218 733-2870 or check the website and click on Spring Gardening Extravaganza.
