Winter Adventures Holiday Camp

When: Dec. 27-30
Who: Youth in grades 3-8
Where: Great lakes Aquarium, Positive Energy Outdoor (Ed)Ventures Site (15 mi. north of Duluth)
Cost: $145 (this includes snacks, materials, and equipment for the entire camp)

Explore the world of winter from a historical and ecological point of view, and get a glimpse at life in the Northland throughout time. Discover what’s living under the snow; get an up close look at snowflakes; travel overland by dogsled; snowshoe to a cranberry bog; learn to harness and drive the draft horses for a winter sleigh ride; and try your hand at ice fishing. This four-day camp concludes with a special red carpet gala for campers, and their family and friends at Great Lakes Aquarium. Enjoy appetizers, a presentation by campers about their experience, and a private tour of the aquarium.

Positive Edventures is a great local company that does good work, I recommend, if you have a child, to sign up for this camp or one of their other outdoor education camps. My child did one of their mushing camps one winter and had a ball.
