3rd Annual Chester Bowl Wine/Beer/Pizza Tasting & Silent Auction

The 3rd Annual Chester Bowl Wine & Beer Tasting and Silent Auction will be held Saturday, Nov. 6 from 6pm to 9pm at the Midi Restaurant in Fitger’s Brewery Complex.

New this year, local restaurants will be providing pizzas and competing for several “Best Of” awards, as voted by participants.  Back again this year — great wine and beer made available by local merchants and distributors.  Sponsors this year include:  Pizza Lucé, The Wine Company, Bernick’s, Bulldog Pizza, Johnson Brothers Wine, Michaud Distributing, Whole Foods Co-op, Wine Merchants, Thristy Pagan Brewery & Pizza, Paustis & Sons Wine, Clyde Pizza, Rohlfing Distributing, Wirtz Beverage, Figter’s Brewhouse, Lake Avenue Café, Midi Restaurant, Quality Wines and Spirits, and Shel Don Design & Imaging.

As participants enjoy locally available wine, beer, and pizza they will also be able to bid on several items in the Silent Auction, graciously donated by local businesses and individuals.  Items available this year include:

  • 2 tickets to the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra
  • 2 tickets each for UMD men’s and women’s hockey
  • 10 multisport tickets for UMD athletic events
  • Wine rack with 7 bottles of wine from Fitger’s Wine Cellars
  • Private flight over Duluth in a Cirrus plane
  • 3 hours of custom graphic design work valued at $150
  • 4 $50 Mary Kay gift certificates

Tickets for the event are $25 per person and can be purchased at the Chester Bowl Chalet, Fitger’s Wine Cellars, Ski Hut, or Continental Ski & Bike.  Proceeds from the event will help preserve the activities at Chester Bowl, including summer and winter programs, festivals and concerts.

About Chester Bowl Park and the Chester Bowl Improvement Club:

Chester Bowl is a beautiful 117-acre park in Duluth. In the winter the Alpine Hill, with a double chairlift and 175 feet of drop, handles up to 960 skiers per hour. During the summer the park has many exciting programs and concerts. It also features beautiful hiking trails, fishing and soccer fields.  The Chester Bowl Improvement Club is a not-for-profit organization that facilitates and promotes sustainable quality programs for all Chester Bowl Park users in a healthy and safe environment.
