Creating a Gravatar

By now you may have noticed PDD’s Gravatars, the little personalized images that appear next to each of the comments. Some people already have personalized Gravatars, but right now your comments probably display our default image. Want a personalized Gravatar of your own? It’s easy.

How do I get my own Gravatar?

Click here to visit gravatar.com and upload your own image. You will have to sign up for a free account at that site. All you need is an image and an email address.

When you return to PDD, simply use the same email address you used at gravatar.com. Your images should automatically appear whenever you make comments on this or any other site that enables Gravatars.

Should you need this information in the future, we’ve created a page in the help section.

It can take up to 10 minutes for the gravatar to be displayed after you upload your gravatar image.

  16. Beverly on February 9, 2009 at 2:16 am

Yup. They both worked. I love how quickly comments go through now. I used to have to really, really care to go through waiting for my comment to post. Not anymore, man.

Beverly brings up something I was wondering about. Gravatar lets you rate your avatar from G-X, it even gives you helpful descriptions of what would qualify for each rating. So can we have rated X gravatars on here. After Googling Bukkake due to a later post by Barrett, I found an excellent little picture.

Sorry – we like to keep it PG around here.. So PG and G gravatars only is what we have it set to at this point.

wtf? when I log into http://www.en.gravatar.com, my image is there.

  23. Cory on April 1, 2009 at 7:32 pm

Admackbar – Make sure you are using the same email address for these comments as you used to sign up with gravatar. Also make sure it is G or PG.

  24. JP on April 1, 2009 at 9:56 pm

Never actually found any of those other sites that pick them up, though. Keep having to create them …

  25. Cory on April 2, 2009 at 11:05 am

UPDATE: I just noticed that since we moved servers the Gravatar rating was set back to G only – so that would explain some peoples PG Gravatar going missing. I switched it back and now Gravatars that went missing in PDD land should be all better. THX

Jeez. A guy sticks his tongue out and all of the sudden parental guidance is suggested.

  27. Admackbar on April 2, 2009 at 1:52 pm

I’m bACK! Anyone hungry for crayfish? I wonder how pictures get rated in the first place.

  28. Cory on April 2, 2009 at 4:27 pm

You rate your gravatar yourself when you upload them.
Paul you may want to jump yours up to R with that hat and tongue it may be crossing the line. Pretty sure I wouldn’t want my kids seeing that. O’wait I do not have kids. Forget it then.

  29. Paul Lundgren on April 2, 2009 at 4:39 pm

I can’t believe I PGed myself. Guess I wanted to be a bad ass.

  30. Adsmackbar on April 14, 2009 at 1:20 pm

    PG = pretty good
