Unsalted Magazine Launch Party

The inaugural issue of Unsalted magazine is off the presses and available to the public for the first time at this event in the St. Louis County Depot’s Great Hall.

Unsalted is a new biannual print magazine that explores the personalities, culture, natural elements and manmade relics at the head of the Great Lakes. Coordinated by the St. Louis County Depot, the project features editorial development by arts and culture website Perfect Duluth Day and creative direction by local design studio Graphic Science.

The debut issue centers on the theme “Remnants,” and includes an in-depth report on the past and uncertain future of Duluth’s oldest existing piece of architecture — the Minnesota Point Lighthouse. It also features the return of Chris Monroe’s “Violet Days” comic strip, which ran in various newspapers from 1996 to 2018.
