Pearl Harbor Prophet
Free
Could world history have unfolded differently if Washington had listened to a man from Spooner, Wisconsin? That’s the question explored in a new locally produced history documentary, playing at free showings on Veterans Day in Superior and Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day in Spooner.
George Washington Harmon, a former mayor and longtime Spooner resident, detailed highly specific information regarding an imminent attack in a letter addressed to the White House dated ten days before the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Pearl Harbor Prophet will be presented on Veterans Day at the Richard I. Bong Veterans Museum, 305 Harbor View Pkwy, Superior, WI 54880 at 6:15 p.m. (Additionally, it will screen twice on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 2026, at The Palace Theater, 238 Walnut St., Spooner, WI 54801. The 11:00 a.m. screening will include a livestream of the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day ceremony hosted by VFW Post 137 Proctor-Duluth at the Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center in Duluth, Minnesota. Bartosh will also share the story of George W. Harmon’s warning during the event.)
Admission is free for all programs.
