Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra: The Tutors & the Pupil

Enjoy Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra’s 40th season with innovative programming that blends masterworks with contemporary compositions, regional artistry and community engagement.

The concerts will take place at 7:00 PM each Thursday: July 2nd at Thorpe Langley Auditorium on the University of Wisconsin-Superior campus and the July 9th and July 16th concerts at the Marshall Performing Arts Center on the University of Minnesota Duluth campus in Duluth.

Highlighted in the three concerts of this summer are guest artists of national prestige who share roots in Minnesota. They are recording violinist James Zabawa-Martinez, Professor at UMD and oboist Brett Linski, and touring soprano Jennifer Lien. The programs include all-time favorites by Haydn and Mozart, but also two world premieres and two Minnesota premieres, including the world premiere of LSCO-commissioned Chinoiserie by internationally renowned composer Melissa Dunphy.
