Hunter’s Park Historic Walk-Through
Free
Wear sturdy shoes and be ready to explore the historic Hunter’s Park. This area was settled by Scottish immigrants in the late 1800s and is filled with stories of early Duluth, beautiful architecture and reminders of the city’s streetcar era.
Park at Glen Avon Presbyterian Church, where the walk begins with a look inside the landmark. The next stop tours the former Washburn Elementary School. Then see the exteriors of three historic homes—the S.P. Morterud, Ronald M. Hunter and William J. McCabe houses, along with the 1891 Motor Line trolley station. The final stop of this tour is a brief walk through the woods along Tischer Creek.
Mark Harvey and Ann Gumpper will host refreshments at 224 West Saint Andrews Street following the tour.
The rain date for this event is Sunday, October 25th.
