History Happy Hour

Glensheen’s History Happy Hour is a 1920s-inspired evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, music and history. Attendees enter through the Juliet Balcony and are greeted with a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres before heading downstairs to explore the basement of the mansion.

Artifacts and music of the era surround guests as local historian Tony Dierckins presents “Drying Out Duluth: From Temperance to Prohibition,” a dive into Duluth’s complicated relationship with alcohol — from the city’s early liquor ordinances and temperance movement to Prohibition and the creative ways Duluthians continued to enjoy a drink.

Following the talk is dessert and a special 1920s-themed experience to round out the evening.

Admission is $45 for Glensheen members and $55 for non-members. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older.
