Full Sturgeon Moon
Aug 1, 2023, 9:18 pm
Event Navigation
The first of two August full Moons reaches its moment of fullness at 1:31 p.m., but will be out of sight until Duluth’s 9:18 p.m. moonrise.
Quoth Farmers’ Almanac: “August’s full Moon was traditionally called the Sturgeon Moon because the giant sturgeon of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain were most readily caught during this part of summer.”
