Ecoprinting Silk Scarves

Plants contain a variety of natural pigments that can be printed directly onto fabrics in a technique called “ecoprinting” or “contact dyeing.” In this class, participants take a silk scarf, lay out a design in leaves and flowers, learn how to roll it into a bundle and take the completed roll home to bake. The magic happens when they unroll their bundle the next day and discover a beautiful print.
