Duluth Public Schools Referendum Town Hall

Join Duluth Public Schools leadership for an informational Community Town Hall to learn about the 2026 Operating Levy Referendum on the November 3 ballot.

District leaders will share factual details regarding the school district’s financial situation and the two-question proposal:

The need: Why state funding falling behind inflation has created a structural deficit despite $12 million in previous budget reductions.

The plan: How Question 1 (Protect student learning today) and Question 2 (Prepare for the future) work together to stabilize district finances and support classrooms.

The cost: How expiring building bond debt offsets Question 1 to keep tax rates stable and what the median tax impact ($15/month on a $300,000 home) looks like for property owners.

Each town hall will include a presentation followed by a dedicated Q&A session where residents can ask questions and gather information to make an informed vote on or before Election Day, November 3.
